In our seasons of life
some things grow and
some things die
time and knowledge can create and break
all types of beliefs long held
beliefs that build strong walls around
an incorrect perception of truth
To transform…
allow time to know when
to mend and heal
when
to embrace and tear down
those old walls of dominance and blindness
there is a time to do all things
if the mind is prepared
then
ACTION
Slowly slowly slowly
awareness blossoms into action
a person changes
a class changes
a school changes
a district changes
a system changes
a country changes
slowly slowly slowly
one grain of sand at a time……….
is firmly together
to stand against
the wave
CHANGE
Until…. each student
is respected
for the color, texture, composition of their each individual life
and not judged by a cover
so access to all things is equal
And we build a new wall
of all kinds of people
but
built strong
and holding each other up in our own diversity
the vision of the future begins…
and the time is now
to mend and heal
that broken system
of blindness
